IT handover when the owner or IT provider changes
The company changes hands, the only IT person leaves, or the IT provider is replaced. That is usually when it turns out the domain is registered to a private email, the router password lives with a former employee, and the accounting system sends mail from a server nobody is paying for. We sort it out before it becomes a problem.
Who it is for
- Heirs and new owners taking over a company they were not involved in.
- Buyers before or after an acquisition (the IT part of due diligence).
- Managers parting with an IT provider, or with the employee who “had it all in his head”.
- Accountants and lawyers running an ownership change who want the IT side documented.
What you get
- Access inventory – domains, DNS, hosting, email, cloud accounts, accounting, banking tools, social media: what belongs to the company, what to a person, who holds the passwords.
- Control transfer – admin rights re-registered to the company, former people’s access removed, critical passwords changed, two-step verification on.
- Equipment and contract list – computers, servers, network gear, licences, subscriptions, who pays for them and until when.
- Email control – sender inventory, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, so nobody can send invoices in the company’s name.
- Handover document – one document that can be attached to the transaction or the estate file.
How it works
First conversation and document request – 1 week. Inventory and control transfer – 1-2 weeks depending on size. Then, if you wish, ongoing support from us or a clean handover to the IT provider of your choice.
Price
Fixed price after the first conversation; for a company of 10-50 staff typically €1,500-3,500 excluding VAT. We sell no licences or hardware within this engagement, so our recommendations are not tied to what you buy afterwards.
